ESTABLISHING THE 5-FOLD MINISTRY MODEL
Through a divine set up we were invited to spend time with the mayor of Amapala. We took the opportunity to prophecy into his life. We anointed him with oil and laid hands on him. I believe that this simple act of obedience will impact the entire island and its population of 11,000 residents.
September 2006 : Honduras
We were on the Island of the Tiger in the Gulf of Francesco in the community of Amapala from 18 September until 10 October. Rick Thompson traveled with me. This was Ricks first time to Honduras. I was so very blessed to have this man of God travel with me. He has a testimony of personal healing from leukemia several years ago and his walk of continual victory has been and is one of great encouragement. The Lord truly used Rick to touch the lives of so many people on the island. One of the ways was that a young girl diagnosed with leukemia was very encouraged and I believe the Lord moved upon her and healing came to her. This was a very productive trip. We witnessed the Spirit of the Lord bring many unto salvation, reconciliation back to the Church and numbers healed of various diseases and infirmities. On one occasion an old woman who had lost her hearing and was suffering with dementia allowed us to minister to her. Her grand daughter, a believer asked us to come to the home. When we arrived she was dressed rather strangely; all her clothing was worn inside out and backwards. She was gracious enough but not very confident in our presence. We found out later that the reason she was dressed in this manner was due to the teaching of her religious background. This way of dressing was for the purpose of warding off evil spirits (us). After we anointed her with oil and prayed, nothing seemed to happen. We were involved in conversations with other family members when the woman began to shout, I ca n hear, I can hear everything. She then went on to speak of events and people she had long since forgotten about. What a God we serve!
The remainder of the time we were involved in evangelism, at times going casa-to-casa bringing the good news, healing the sick and setting people free. We also preached in several meetings strengthening the church throughout the island. We re-established foundations of the church and gave instruction on and established the 5-fold ministry for kingdom building.
The witchcraft and powers of darkness have re-emerged. As I see it, in everyplace and culture when believers slacken up the enemy seeks to come in and rebuild the strongholds that keep people blind and bound. I have visited this place many times since 1997. This place has a vital insight to what is happening and will happen in the spiritual world. Because of the isolated population it affords the ability to see how things can change. Change that is good and changes that are not so good as different external and internal stimuli are released into the atmosphere. It grants insight to how the church makes the difference to a population. This too is evident as the church either walks in the spirit or gets entangled in the affairs of the flesh. It is my belief that as I observe this island my eyes are opened to how the world is affected by what the church does or does not do in fulfilling its purpose. When the church is the Church nothing can stand against her. It is my prayer that the eyes of our understanding be enlightened; that we may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.
